Before the return of Yeshua the Messiah, Scripture warns that a great falling away must occur, and the lawless one will be revealed—one who exalts himself above all that is called Elohim. He will even sit in the Set-apart Place, declaring himself to be divine.
Sha’ul tells us that the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, but is currently restrained until the proper time. When the restraint is removed, the Master will destroy the lawless one with the spirit of His mouth and the brightness of His coming.
This man will come with lying signs and wonders. Those who do not receive the love of the truth will be given over to a strong delusion, causing them to believe the lie and be condemned.
In chapter 3, Sha’ul also warns the faithful to withdraw from the disorderly, especially those refusing to work and living in idleness. He exhorts believers to hold fast to the traditions taught and prays that the Master of peace will give them peace always.
