Iran-backed Houthi forces carried out coordinated ballistic-missile and drone attacks against Yemeni government military camps in Marib and Hadramout Provinces. At least 30 government troops were killed and more than 50 were wounded, according to Yemeni government officials. The attacks represent Yemen’s most serious military escalation since the de facto truce began reducing large-scale fighting in April 2022.

The Houthis claimed responsibility for the missile-and-drone attacks but asserted that hundreds of Saudi-aligned troops were killed or wounded. That higher casualty claim has not been independently verified. The minimum toll of 30 deaths is supported by separate reporting from the Associated Press and Reuters, both citing Yemeni government sources.
This development crosses the Eastern Messiah Signs Watch immediate-alert threshold because it was a mass-casualty military attack and may signal a major resumption of Yemen’s civil war.
Separately, the proposed Iran-Oman agreement concerning passage through the Strait of Hormuz remained unfinished at the time of this report. Negotiations were reportedly advanced, but no final, operational reopening agreement had been confirmed. It should therefore not yet be presented as a completed diplomatic breakthrough.
2. Humanitarian Impact
The confirmed casualties presently involve government military personnel. No verified civilian deaths or major new displacement directly resulting from these attacks had been reported when this alert was prepared.
Renewed fighting around Marib is nevertheless especially dangerous because the province has long sheltered large numbers of displaced Yemenis. An expanding campaign involving missiles and drones could threaten civilian communities, roads, energy facilities and humanitarian access.
The United Nations previously warned that renewed Houthi military and maritime operations could pull Yemen more deeply into regional conflict and create serious humanitarian, economic and environmental consequences.

The verified conclusion is that Yemen has suffered a serious military escalation. Describing this attack as the fulfillment of a particular prophecy would go beyond the available evidence. Scripture supports watchfulness, concern for people endangered by war and the pursuit of peace, but it does not justify sensational predictions based on a single attack.
